## Rømer to Rankine

The Rømer temperature scale was proposed by Ole Christensen Rømer in 1701. This measure was fix the zero initially using freezing brine, then it adjusts 60 degree at the point of the boiling of pure water and 7.5 degree as the freezing point. The unit is represented by °Rø after the value. Beware sometimes it has appeared as °R just like for Réaumur and Rankine scales.

The Rankine temperature scale was proposed by William John Macquorn Rankine in 1859 similarly to Kelvin temperature scale. The zero absolute at Rankine scale is also 0 K, and degree of Rankine is the same than Fahrenheit degree. The Rankine is represented as °R after the value, and sometimes like °RA.

The Rankine temperature scale values are calculated from Rømer using the formula $$(Rømer - 7.5) × {24 \over 7} + 491.67$$
